Day 13 of first phase

Today Saturday  started with a morning prayer. I had class today and also I went for peer evaluation. Today I started a new lesson, the first prose in unit 5 in class 9th standard.  The name of the lesson was "The Happiness Machine". I started off the class by mentioning the importance to bring or feel happiness for small things. Through this I brought an introduction to the lesson. After explaining few paragraphs, I gave a small homework and left for today. Also I checked the homework that was given in the last class. This beautiful day too came to an end.

Day 12 of first phase

Thursday I got an online class in the evening where I took a grammar portion for the 9th standard. The topic for today's class was modal auxiliary verbs following the advance organizer modal. I started off with the slide showing them the advance organizer that is auxiliary Verb. Then moved to today's topic. I gave many examples to make the concept more clear and involved student participation for answering the questions given as a practice. I entered the class with a game and all students were so interested to take part. This game consist of questions connected to the topic modal auxiliary Verb. This class was observed by my optional teacher and general teacher. I ended the class with a homework.

Day 11 of first phase

Today as always, the day started with a morning prayer. Tuesday there was a period for English at 8th standard. I took a revision class on the lesson "The School for Sympathy" as their achievement test was approaching near. I used interesting and attractive slides to grab in their attention. Also explained each point in detail to clarify all the doubts. The strength was very less in standard 8 as covid scenes were increasing, still we taught them with all enthusiasm. Also I gave a small homework after the class and then went back to the staff room to meet the teacher to inform about the achievement test. And even this day came to an end beautifully.

Day 10 of first phase

On Saturday we took online classes and I had class on 2nd period. Today I was prepared for the class which contains last part and the interesting twist in the lesson "The Last Leaf". I started the class with a puzzle game. This motivated the students and made them very active. Then through a link talk, I took the twist part of the lesson and students were so interested as they went through the twist part. Then to check their comprehension, I asked them few questions. Also I checked their homework and gave a new homework for today. Strength of the class was little less, that was the only thing that made me sad today.

Day 9 of first phase

My next class fell on Thursday.  In this class I got to continue where I stopped in the 9th standard.  It was the second period and the students were so active and ready to start/learn the continuation of the lesson "Last Leaf". I started the class with another motivational story to inculcate some values in them. Then after that the students were asked to pick out from their memories about the last class on this lesson. I showed them the slides and also towards the end gave a homework for the students. Then I made the students sing some song to relax them before the next teacher arrives.

Day 8 of first phase

It was the starting of the second week of teaching practice. I took a class in ninth, the topic/lesson was "The Last Leaf". As from one class I could finish almost two or three lesson plans as it was one hour class. I finished almost three lesson plans. I started off with a motivational story and brought a link to the lesson. I asked some questions to check their comprehension. Then also gave a home work for better understanding. After that I had some chit chat with my students until the next teacher comes to the class.

Day 7 of Phase 1

As Friday was a public holiday for Pongal, Saturday was working. Saturday followed Friday's timetable. First two hours were Hindi and Malayalam. As there were no any trainees for Malayalam and hindi, we all had free hours and had a good chit chat time along with that we also did all the pending works. Then the last hour was Maths and I went for peer evaluation with Sreevineetha. This day was a kind of relaxed one and our first week came to an end.

Day 6 of Teaching Practice.

Today I was too nervous, I should say bit tensed which is the right word.  The reason for my tension was that I had class on the second hour today. Class timing was from 10:00 am to 11:00. I started with a new lesson." "School for Sympathy". It was a beautiful lesson. I started off through an entry activity by giving them a word search game (puzzle).  All the students were so energetic and enthusiastic to do the activity.  Then I moved to the lesson by narrating a motivational story and through the moral of the story I brought a link to the main lesson.  I could completed almost the first page of the lesson. Also before ending the class, I gave an assignment too.  Next hour was physics but I did not go for peer evaluation. Sajin came as  my peer evaluator for my class. Even this day came to an end.

Day 5 of Teaching Practice.

T he 12th of January began peacefully with a morning prayer. Today there was only ninth standard and the first hour was taken by Shilpa (physics).  Then the next hour  was biology.  Third hour was history and I went for peer evaluation. I wrote some comments about the class. Then we all had a small cup of tea for refreshing ourselves. The next hour was Hindi and it was a free hour for all of us. Even this day came to an end.

Day 4 of Teaching Practice.

Today way Tuesday and ninth class had English class today. Aleena was preparing for that class. I went for peer evaluation in the first hour. Second hour was free and third hour was English and again I went for peer evaluation of Aleena.  The reason is unknown, the students were very dull this time, may be due to continuous hours of classes from the morning made them stressed out. Next class was Chemistry and was taken by Georgia. After that even this beautiful day came to an end.

A great step towards my passion...an important phase of my teaching career. I got 8A and I got second period in that class to teach English. As it was the first time me being as a teacher, I was really nervous.  But with God's grace I could do well and got so happy and satisfied as a trainee teacher. Looking forward for more...πŸ₯°

Today was a great start for my teaching passion. The class I got was 8th standard division A. I taught unit 4 last chapter "A day in the country".As online classes were taken by the subject teachers of the school, I had to continue from where the English teacher had stopped. So I took a middle portion of the story. I introduced myself and inculcated a value about preserving the relationship between man and  nature. I brought a link by showing a picture of a small girl and an old man. Then I started the class and made the students to have a silent reading and followed by glossary reference with the help of ppt. Then I explained the portion for today's class. Before concluding the class I gave a group activity and along with that an assignment.
