B Ed Diaries

  The last class of this first session of teaching practice.  I had the last period and taught 8A my last class on "Adjectives ". I thought not to naked them so stressed,  so taught for half an hour and then the next half an hour we played games on adjectives and asked them their experience with us. All responded really well and touched my heart very deeply.  Also for the last time I narrated a story with a moral value and then ended the class. And then when I stepped out of the class, there was something that was pulling me back into that 8A. Something deep inside, something very special. And walking through the corridors,  I understood that a fire was burning inside that pulls me more closer to my passion "teaching".

  Today the day started with a soothing morning prayer. On the first hour, it was Maths and second hour was English in 8th standard. The strength was less due to the unavailability of School bus service.  But today was a very special day because the students of 8th A gave us 8 teacher trainees a very cute gift and that will always remain in us for ever. We were so shocked seeing the gifts beautifully wrapped in red gift paper. As this was our last offline class, these students were waiting for us and also we took a picture  with them. As it was the last day, I took the diagnostic test and also gave a Remedial class part 1 on the same day. Also planned to take part 2 of the Remedial class the next day online. Also after the class, 8 of us took picture with principal and Thomas Sir. While stepping out of the school,  we 8 knew  that we had an armful of beautiful memories.

 Our last week of teaching practice. We will surely miss these teacher teacher calls and students and ofcourse this atmosphere. Today as it was Tuesday I had class for 9th standard. I took a grammar portion " Not only But also". It was a very simple topic but needed lots of practice as it can get confusing. I taught them from each and every possible point and made them work it out in groups then individually.  I made use of ICT aids to make it more interesting and appealing for the students. Also these helped to catch their attention and concentration span. After that I made them play a game.  I divided them into groups and made them play it. They were so happy and played with lots of enthusiasm. It was not just a game, it had questions related to the topic that was taught today.  Then I ended the class with a  motivational story to make them relaxed. 

  Today we 8 of the trainee teachers conducted a conscientization for both 8th and 9th standard. As it was Saturday, we took online from 7 to 8pm. Topic of our conscientization program was "Cyber world and it's Mysteries". We divided this into many sub topics and we 8 had about to six to seven minutes to talk and interact with the students based on our subtopic. It was a very interactive session. The feedback form was also filled by students and some feedbacks made me really happy. This was all about last online class and we along with students are so excited for the offline class. This was the evening session.   Morning session I tool a revision class on the 4th unit first poem "First Showers". I revised the poem with the help of ppt slides and asked many questions.  Also made them go through the activities too. The end of online classes.....

 This week was online and I was so excited that next week offline classes will begin as per government's law. Today was Thursday and I got class in 8th standard.  I taught them the last poem"Solitude" in the last unit. It was a very good poem but might be little hard for the students. I really worked on it and took the class today so that they can score well if questions were asked from this portion. I explained them the poem along with the new words with the help of ppt slides. It had three stanzas and I made the three stanzas clear for them. Also I asked many questions to check their comprehension. Then I gave a homework to write a paragraph on the state solitude. Then I ended the class with a motivational story related to the topic of the poem. As this was the last period, I made sure that all left the class and I went back to my works.

 Tuesday we had online class and took class for 8th standard. I took the first period and started a beautiful poem, "My Grandmother's House". It was a very touching poem and the tone was depression and loneliness. I introduced the poem by asking few questions and brought a link to the poem. Also introduced the poet of the poem. As I explained the poem and the new words, students were so interested and they all loved their poem. Also I gave a homework to write the profile of the author. Then I made them sing a song to make them little relaxed and make them ready for the next period. I dispersed the class with a motivational message. Next hour I went for peer evaluation.   And this day ended beautifully. 

 Saturday we had online classes and I took second period which was for about one hour. By his class I finish the lesson " Happiness Machine ". Students understood the lesson well and was so happy to learn such a cute lesson. Asked some questions ti the students to check their comprehension about the whole lesson. Then I moved to dome text book activities and made them to do all the activities at the back. Also gave a group activity to solve a puzzle and it was actually a very interesting one. With that I ended the lesson and also gave a homework for the students.  And this day too came to an end.

 Thursday started off well and a blessed feeling was brought through the morning prayer.  I had the last hour in 9th standard and the students were so stressed and tired. I made them play a game "To find the leader". This game made them so happy and active. Also I narrated a value inculcating story and they got motivated to learn the rest of the lesson. I continued from where I stopped. Students got really interested in the story. I explained the glossary with the help videos and audios. I then gave them a discourse activity to draw a word pyramid with the word " Wife". Then ended the class with a homework given for the students. Also this day beautifully ended.

 Today Tuesday I had an hour at 9th standard.  This day as always started with a morning prayer. I got the second period and took the continuation of the lesson Happiness Machine. I brought a link by singing a farmer song which they usually sing when they are happy. Students got motivated and I continued the rest part of the lesson. Students listened carefully and I explained the glossary with the help of pictures and ideas. Then I gave a discourse activity to write a diary entry. Then towards the closure of the class I gave them a homework. Also I asked them few questions to check their comprehension. On the third hour I had peer evaluation. Also this day came to an end.
